How to do the standing barbell curl?

Having big arms is probably the biggest concern of bodybuilders. The barbell curl is without a doubt the best exercise to develop your biceps but the technique must be top notch. Let's see how to work this muscle with a straight bar.

How do you do the exercise?

After completing your warm-up, stand up. Take the bar in supine grip

Keep your back straight and a minimum of bending at the knees. Your legs should be hip-width apart.

Position your hands as wide as your shoulders. Then raise the load while keeping your elbows close to your body. Then return to the starting position by lowering the bar. The tempo should be slow and controlled. The loads should be adapted so that you do not need to make a run-up, because this movement is not ideal for your back.
