What is the CNA?

ANC stands for Active Noise Cancellation, a technology that allows headphones and earphones to reduce ambient noise so that the user can better hear what they want to hear, without the distracting noises. Noise reduction makes it possible to have phone conversations or listen to music at a reduced volume and still hear every sound perfectly.

How does it work?

Devices with ANC technology have microphones placed next to the audio outputs. These microphones pick up the frequencies of incoming noise and generate another sound to counteract it (an anti-noise outgoing tone that effectively suppresses these annoying sounds).

The peaks and valleys of the incoming sound are suppressed by the respective peaks and valleys of the secondary sound generated by the DSP system before entering the listener's ear.

The chip

The DSP microchip at the heart of ANC technology is where the magic happens. Logically, the quality of the chip is directly related to the quality of the noise reduction. It is the central element responsible for generating anti-noise frequencies.
